When we arrived at dang sea beach bungalows they had NO availability. I repeat when we arrived after a twenty four hour trip we were advised that they had no vacancies at Dang Sea Beach Bungalows and that although they did offer some substandard accommodation necessitating a hazardous clamber in the dark over the roof of a building site in the high street above a pharmacy it was not at dang sea beach bungalows. They also failed to inform us that they had no vacancies until after we had paid. This is not the standard of service that we had come to expect from booking.com. Under no circumstances would we have entertained staying at an alternative accommodation of such poor quality. It was fortunate that we found a helpful receptionist at a nearby hotel who managed through his contacts to help us out. Remember this was nearly midnight. I have stayed at over 1000 hotels in the course of my life and when as has happened the hotel was overbooked they always and without any exception provided alternative accommodation that was as good as but usually better, much better than the accommodation originally purchased. I wrote to booking.com who had confirmed the reservations and they replied:- Thank you for contacting the Booking.com Customer Service team.
