A low season photos; it looks better when it’s not raining!
The Nice Beach Bungalows are well-constructed and at time of writing, newly built. They have either a double and a semi-double, a combination that sleeps three, or twin semi-doubles, sleeping two. A semi-double is slightly larger than a twin, but still small enough that you can squeeze in a second person only if you are really good friends.
Each bungalow is fan-cooled and has a cool-water shower, mosquito nets on the beds, and a private balcony with sea views. Tents have two twin futon mattresses (side by side, so they are effectively a double) and are right on the sand facing the water.
Nice Beach Bungalow set back from the water on Coconut Beach.
The beach is, of course, the best part of Nice Beach Bungalows. Coconut Beach is beautiful, with white sand, turquoise water, and only a few other accommodations, so it’s mercifully quiet. The Nice Beach owners have done a good job of taking advantage of their location, installing cushioned beach chairs and tables shaded with large thatched umbrellas facing the sea, as well as a wooden swing.
Rainy day at Nice Beach. Still pretty nice.
We visited on a rainy day in low season and the staff were apologetic about how much less beautiful the beach was than usual. Having spent enough time on Koh Rong in high season and low, we believed them when they promised us it looks a lot better when the sun is out – so take that into consideration when viewing the photos on this post! But the staff were very friendly and the restaurant was reasonably priced, so we’re definitely willing to give them a shot on our next visit. They also offer boat trips and it’s possible to see Koh Rong’s famous bioluminescent plankton in the water on moonless nights. We were quoted the following prices at Nice Beach Bungalows:

Bungalow with one double bed plus one semi-double or two semi-doubles: Up to $45 in high season, $35 or $40 in low season
Tent with twin mattresses: $15 in high season, $10 in low season

All prices include breakfast. Bookings are available through their Facebook page, or Booking.com or Agoda. Prices on Agoda are the same as direct booking rates, but Booking.com can be a few dollars more.
