Loei is the only place in Thailand where temperatures can occasionally dip below freezing, and Phu Ruea National Park is often said to be one of the country’s chilliest national parks. The views from the Phu Ruea peak are far-stretching and picturesque. Though the altitude often means that clouds and mists may obscure the views for a while, be patient and you’ll find that the mists rise and the clouds drift past, allowing you to enjoy the terrific vistas of rolling fields, rural landscapes, nearby and distant mountains, and small villages dotted around the terrain; head to the Decho Viewpoint and Lon Noi Cliff for some of the best vistas. There’s another large thermometer at the peak, located in the parking area. As you enter the national park you’ll see a large digital thermometer outside of the visitors’ centre. As well as being novel for its cooler temperatures, it is also home to plenty of flora that can only flourish in such conditions, enabling you to see things that you can’t spot in other parts of the country. Take a stroll along the concrete-imprinted pathway at the top of the mountain. You’ll also find things like beaded bracelets, candles, fridge magnets, key rings, and other typical souvenir items. You cannot take cars or other vehicles to the peak, but there is a parking area close by. As well as pine trees, that grow better in cooler climates, Phu Ruea National Park is known for its beautiful red poinsettia flowers. Interspersed with colourful statues and with an ornamental windmill as a central focal point, there are plenty of great photo opportunities! Feeling chilly? Several vendors set up small market stalls, selling an array of locally made items. Snaking through the trees and bushes, you’re sure to be surprised by some of the creatures. A golden statue of the Lord Buddha sits in the shade of a white pagoda, with sweet-smelling incense and vibrantly coloured flowers having been left as offerings. Admission to Phu Ruea National Park costs 200 Thai baht for non-Thai visitors. Sometimes called the Christmas flower in western countries, if you visit in the cool season (November to February) you can enjoy an abundance of poinsettias in a garden just before the park’s main entrance. If you don’t fancy walking up the steep incline, pick-up trucks carry people up and down for just 20 Thai baht for a return trip. The path shows many of Thailand’s non-human residents, with an impression of each animal’s outline, its paw / foot print, and its name.

Samut Songkhram is an ancient province with a long history. Amphawa Floating Market Talat Nam Yam Yen Amphawa is an afternoon floating market by the canal near Wat Amphawan Chetiyaram (parking area is available). Bangkok along Highway No. 35. It occupies an area of 416 square kilometers and is administratively divided into 3 districts: Amphoe Muang, Amphoe Amphawa, and Amphoe Bang Khonthi. The area is a low basin with 356 canals. The people cultivate various kinds of fruits such as lychee, pomelo, and coconuts. Samut Songkhram a coastal province at the mouth of the Mae Klong River, is 64 kms. Amphawa Floating Market and the Bangkok famous Dumnern Saduak Floating Market are located in this province, only 1 hour drive from Bangkok where you can experience the nature with local living lifestyle. Originally, it is believed that this province was once a part of Ratchaburi province, and called Suan Nork at that time. Then, towards the end of the Ayutthaya period going on to the Thonburi period, it was separated from Ratchaburi province and was called Muang Mae Klong.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, during 12.00 a.m. 8.00 p.m., the Amphawa Canal is occupied by vendors who pack their boats with food and drinks, such as fried sea mussel, noodles, coffee, O-liang (iced black coffee), sweets, etc. There are also things for sale on wheelbarrows on the bank. Between Bangkok and the seaside resort of Pattaya lies the Ancient City, called Muang Boran in Thai. 10.00 a.m., Damnern Saduak Floating market offers great photogenic scenes and several restaurants are lined along the banks. This floating market, located on Damnern Saduak Canal in Ratchaburi Province, is an hour’s drive away from Bangkok. Busy between 8.00 a.m. The vast and well-tended premises comprise replicas – on a smaller scale – of most of Thailand’s historical buildings and monuments, from Chiang Rai in the North to Nakhon Si Tammarat in the South. Visitors can take part in one of the organized tours available or charter a private boat to do their sightseeing at their own pace.
