There are just two overwater bungalow resorts in Jamaica, Sandals Royal Caribbean and Sandals South Coast. Both of them are luxury 5 star, all inclusive and adults only resorts. They both also have gorgeous settings, surrounded by the dreamiest calm, clear waters you could ever imagine.
Sandals South Coast All Inclusive Overwater Bungalows:
Sandals South Coast has a choice of overwater bungalows as well as rooms and suites around the main hotel building. All of them are spacious and luxurious but their over one thousand square feet overwater bungalows are the most spacious and luxurious of all.
They have out door terraces with hot tubs and those now very fashionable, over water hammocks. Inside there are glass panels on the floor to watch the action in the sea below, large, plush bathrooms. Room service is 24 hours and you have an exclusive menu of food and other services that can be ordered directly to your room.
The resort is enormous with various parts named after European countries; Dutch Village, Italian Village, French Village and Venetian Piazza. There are 9 quality restaurants there serving Asian, European and local food and a full eleven bars which vary in atmosphere and music, and have live entertainment most nights.
The resort is all inclusive but, compared to many all inclusives, the quality of the food and drink is exceptional .
There are a number of boutiques and luxury jewelers at the resort for some duty free shopping, and you can browse art galleries or play a number of sports such as tennis, billiards, shuffle board, table tennis and beach volleyball.
You have a modern gym and fitness studio here too, as well as the Red Lane Spa which has various treatment rooms plus a yoga studio, plunge pools, a steam room and lots of peaceful outdoor chilling out areas.
With the all inclusive arrangement guests can enjoy a whole range of water sports; snorkeling, scuba diving, water skiing, kayaking and wind surfing for example as well as tours and excursions including on glass bottom boats.

Sandals Royal Caribbean – All Inclusive Overwater Bungalows
The second of the two overwater bungalow resorts in Jamaica is the equally luxurious, and also all inclusive and couples only, Sandals Royal Caribbean. It is smaller than Sandals South Coast, quieter and more intimate, being set on its own private island near Sangster International Airport and Montego Bay.
They have a nice choice of accommodation from more standard rooms and suites to their gorgeous overwater bungalows. They have different amounts of space and luxury features and come in various price ranges with of course the overwater bungalows being the most luxurious, and therefore most expensive.
These overwater bungalows were not only Jamaica’s but the Caribbean’s first and made quite a splash when they were first opened. Not just for their over water villa concept but also for their sheer sense of opulence and luxury.
They have over 1000 square feet of space and are superbly designed with quality furniture and fittings and luxury modern features.
Food ranges from casual to fine dining with . a choice of Thai, French, and Jamaican cuisine. Guests here can also use their all inclusive package at Sandal’s two other, larger, Montego Bay resorts which can be reached by a free shuttle service.
They have a small but lovely section of private beach here, two jacuzzis and seven outdoor swimming pools, two of which have swim up bars.
The resort might be smaller than Sandals South Coast but there is still live entertainment most evenings at the bars and around the beach.
Guests can avail of a choice of water sports; scuba diving, jet skiing, kayaking and much more, as well as various tours and excursions both of the fun and educational kind.
There are tennis courts here plus beach volleyball courts and you can also play table tennis, shuffleboard and billiards. Their South Asian style Red Lane Spa has a variety of beauty, health and relaxation treatments to be enjoyed as well as a modern gym.
The resort is very near Sangster International Airport, just five miles in fact and a shuttle service will be waiting at the airport for you when you arrive. Sandals itself sits by the blissfully calm waters of Mahoe Bay, Montego Bay with many shuttles running the short journey to and from Montego Bay.
