Hello Christian,

Yes, we have all made it back home safely and we thoroughly enjoyed our very comfortable stay at Chanty Beach Lodge. We sincerely thank you for all your help and referrals to get to dive on Sakatia, Jean Pierre was so great as a guide, and KK was a blessing to drive us many miles – all thanks to you!

Dear Christian & Chantal,

I am well back in New Zealand now and regrettably back to work! I had an amazing stay and will return!. Here I found a virtual oasis! Even had the palm trees over a magic beach. Just what I was seeking after a long trip to France and the UK. I even managed a little nightlife and yet could still retreat safely to my hideaway as the opportunity presented. My bungalow was spotless, well serviced and wonderful staff made the stay truly memorable! A 5 star experience!

To the next time we meet! take very good care! Best Regards

Mike, Dunedin, New Zealand

Hi Christian and Chantal

We would like to thank you for a fantastic holiday at your hotel. You were so helpful with everything and the food and accommodation was wonderful. We really enjoyed ourselves as a family and would recommend your hotel to all our friends. Greetings to your staff.

We spent a week staying in a beautiful airy bungalow on the beach at Chanty Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Christian and his family are attentive and caring hosts, going out of their way to share their passion of Madagascar with you and offer helpful suggestions. Best experience – Enjoying an afternoon swim while watching the sun turn the ocean champagne colour as it sets over Sakatia Island.

Chanty Beach Hotel Villa, just a few metres from the beach this resort is a quiet hideaway with lovely shady gardens and warm German/Malagasy hospitality (They offer both self-catering chalets and B&B).

Christian and his lovely wife Chantal were great in preparing the most delicious evening meals served right on their beach restaurant! Christian’s knowledge of the island and its people was most entertaining, giving us a good insight on what to expect of these wonderful people. Our accommodation was comfortable – an air-conditioned room, en suite bathroom – clean and spacious! Off the veranda was a small kitchenette, not that we ever used it too cook as there were more than enough eating spots along this bay. There was however a fully equipped bar fridge – with enough 3horses beer to keep your thirst quenched!

For lunch, we found ourselves repeatedly drawn to the Sambatra B&B – a way further along the beach, which offered the most amazing seafood, and great service. If you have an afternoon to spare when not consuming large amounts of calamari, prawns and fish, catch the ferry to Sakatia Passions – only ten minutes away this is simply a little piece of paradise with fabulous snorkelling in clear blue water.

Each afternoon we enjoyed the best full body massages under the trees of Chanty Beaches lush gardens- at very reasonable prices! A definite must to ensure you get rid of any stress and to ensure a truly relaxing holiday.

We thoroughly enjoyed Chanty Beach, a lovely small Villa with great hospitality.

“Louise and I agreed that we had one of the best holidays of our lives and hope to be back one of these days. Looking at all our photos brings back very happy memories indeed. The 55kg Sailfish which I was so fortunate to hook into, snorkelling at Tanikely was like swimming inside an aquarium, the buffet & meeting the locals at Sakatia Passions on 2 successive Sundays, the amazing sunsets with images of Dhows in the background against a pink and fading sky, but most of all the variety of DELICIOUS meals provided at Chanty Beach by your very well trained and competent staff. Being in the industry ourselves we have quite a critical eye when it comes to accommodation establishments, but we can quite honestly say that Chanty Beach lacks nothing. The level of service, the hosting, standard of rooms as well as the cleanliness are unsurpassed anywhere! We will happily recommend to all with whom we share our precious memories of a wonderful holiday spent with amazing people in a most perfect setting & climate”.
Many thanks

We had a stunning time and everything went very smoothly (transfers etc.). Chanty Beach was the perfect spot, very peaceful and quiet with a beautiful garden and a lovely beach. The room (bungalow) was great too, very spacious and private with a gorgeous view from the terrace. The breakfast was simple (fresh fruit, baguette, jam and honey, tea & coffee – you pay extra for juices or cooked breakfast) but always very nice and sufficient. We also had dinner a couple of times and it was always delicious, mainly fish & seafood! Chanty Beach is the perfect place for honeymooners – we very much enjoyed the tranquillity, long walks along the beach, lazing in the garden and going for a swim at sunset! We will definitely be back!

We were so happy with Chanty Beach and out of all the other places we saw we would still choose Chanty if given the choice again. It is very quiet, cozy and private. Christian the owner was also incredibly helpful and informative. The transfer from airport to Chanty went smoothly and the services provided were excellent. I even indulged in a massage in my room that the owner organized. We hired motorbikes and explored the island-the roads been very challenging and battered. We hired a hobby catamaran at Sakatia Island. We did snorkel and saw lots of turtles and it was so great to swim so frequently as the water was so divine. Overall the stretch of beach between Chanty and the rest did not feel too commercialized which is what we appreciated – only minimal harassment. Thanks again

Hi Christian and Chantal,

We are back in Australia with wonderful memories of our stay at Chanty Beach. WOW the evening meals you served!! They surpassed those we have had in 5 star hotels! Makes my mouth water just thinking of the oysters, HUGE prawns and of course lobster night. Memories of the entrees too, such variety. Just wish Nosy Be was closer to Australia and we could return next year.

Will always remember our “2 hour” swims in the warm water and the spacious accommodation.

Take care,

Cheers Lyn Butler.

If you are lucky enough to hit on the Chanty Beach at Nosy Be web site DO NOT LOOK ANY FURTHER. This place has excellent spacious accommodation 10 mtrs. from a good beach and warm calm water. The owners Christian and Chantal Herz are excellent hosts, and the food that Chantal serves is equal to anything you will eat in Europe at a quarter of the price. If this place was closer to Australia we would be regular visitors. Thank you Christian and Chantal for helping to make our holiday a memorable one.
