Phuket has a great variety of beaches. From jam-packed with tourists right in front of Patong Beach, to near deserted beaches on the northern part of the island and to hidden away beaches like Laem Singh.
The west side of Phuket serves up all the fabulous beaches from the north end near the airport to the southern end of Phuket.
In the North of Phuket to Phangnga, you can find dazzling displays of Thailand’s best such as Natai Beach along with the most exclusive and unspoilt private beaches.
Mai Khao Beach near the airport is a fabulous 10 km long stretch of pure soft white sand with 5-6 very nice 5 Star Resorts along it. This is also the only beach in Phuket where you can witness the release of the giant sea turtles each year.
Naithon and Layan Beaches are far less crowded than the tourist havens to the south. If you seek a quiet, yet very lovely beach, those two are excellent places to start.
Kamala Beach is a nice long stretch of beach providing a beautiful place to swim & enjoy sun tanning sea-side. This area is very popular for it’s abundant private pool villas.
See Freedom Beach. Take a long tailed boat from Patong and you will see one of the best and most secluded beaches.
Kata & Karon beaches serve up very long stretches of beach for those who prefer a little quieter and somewhat cozier area of Phuket just past Patong. With all the shops, restaurants, spa’s & massage shops just across the beach you are bound to find everything you need for an enjoyable holiday in this area.
For one of the nicest beaches in Phuket and a top 10 all of Asia, take a trip to the southern end of Phuket to Naiharn beach. Popular area for joggers and bicyclists who exercise around Naiharn lake with many taking advantage of the beautiful beach and sea afterwards for a dip.
Just a little further south tucked away in the corner before turning towards Rawai beach is Yanui beach. A very small and cozy beach that is great for snorkeling, kayaking and very popular for wedding photographers.
